PHILOSOPHY
Ray founded O’Steen Law on a belief that the client benefits when their relationship with their lawyer is deeper than just an agreement for providing a service. Clients want a lawyer who will be “their lawyer” and invested in their success. The reality is that the legal needs of the vast majority of clients are generally best served by a single lawyer, whether that lawyer practices with a traditional law firm or not.
Recognizing that clients desire and benefit from working directly with their lawyer, O’Steen Law prioritizes accessibility and responsiveness to efficiently deliver practical and effective legal advice.
It should come as little surprise that clients benefit greatly when their lawyer is free from the burdens, overhead, and minimum hours requirements inherent in the traditional law firm structure. Traditional law firms are fueled by the constant churn of clients and seemingly require offices with river views to function. That often means the firm’s bottom line needs come before client needs. At the end of the day, clients don’t benefit from river views, too many hands on a matter, or billable hour requirements. Clients benefit from skilled representation where clients come first and the billing is fair and reasonable.
On a personal level, Ray is the son of a now retired Jacksonville real estate developer and small business owner. So he’s learned early on that an effective lawyer should always be laser focused on his client, listening to and working collaboratively with them to identify and achieve their goals.
